Alternately depressing. moving, and humorous, Hard Eight was everything that I could have expected from Paul Thomas Anderson's directorial debut. Plus, Philip Seymour Hoffman makes an extended cameo before anyone really knew who he was.
John C. Reilly was also fantastic, naturally. I wish he would go back to doing drama.
