Review of Hard Candy (2005) by Cole M — 27 Jan 2011
A provocative modern-day retelling of "Red Riding Hood." Ellen Page plays a precocious teenager whom has been chatting online with a 35 year-old photographer. They agree to meet each other but this is all a rouse--- as Ellen's true motive is to ensnare the suspected pedophile and have him confess his pedophilia and unmask him for the sicko that he is.
Ellen is unparalleled in the role; hitting the right points and deconstructing Patrick Wilson's interior and exterior. The things she does and says, she tortures him to his core. Which is what, in my opinion, should happen to pedophile. Break he or she down until they're nothing but an empty candy shell.
