Review of Hard Boiled (1992) by Matt R — 18 Dec 2010
I love this movie more every time I watch it. Being one of John Woo's earlier movies you can see his style and direction in its freshest form with even more artistic freedom. Along with the âThe Killerâ? the action movie has never been so developed, with an engaging story and memorable fleshed out characters.
Tequila is a hard as nails cop that is in the vein of Dirty Harry Callahan and Frank Bullitt, encompassing the very essence of law and order. I think the Tea House shoot out is one of the greatest choreographed action sequences ever put on film, I mean the sequence with Chow Yun-Fat sliding down the rails with the two guns annihilating everyone In the room is just too cool for words.
Doves and shoot out massacres have never been so classy.
