Review of Harakiri (1962) by Christopher M — 12 Dec 2007
One intense and tragic film to behold. It started off and I was mildly interested in it, but it went places I did not expect as its story unfolded. The story is beautifully crafted and is a scathing criticism of Japanese culture.
Kobayashi is also a wonderful director who makes a tremendously good looking film as well. All around emotionally draining and remarkably tension filled film.
