Review of Harakiri (1962) by David B — 27 May 2015
A great film about the hypocrisy of feudal samurai society and the color of true courage and valor. Nakadai gives an incredibly emotional performance filled with a great range of emotion. I love the scene when Tsugumo laments over the dead body of his son-in-law Chijiiwa and cries over the fact that he was to attached to his sword to think of giving it up for the well-being of his family.
An absolute classic!
