Review of Harakiri (1962) by Jayden C — 03 Jul 2007
The Japanese used to master action like nobody else, enforcing it with depth and character. As it stands, Harakiri is a samurai "Wild Bunch" (also in my list), albeit a one-man wild bunch driven by desperation and honor rather than pure machismo.
As such, it is far easier to relate to, beside being a better film. Essential viewing.
