Review of Happy-Go-Lucky (2008) by Deena R — 10 May 2009
Funny, I actually enjoyed this Brit film about the adventures of a carefree woman in London and how she affects those around her with her free-spirited and positive attitude. Very similar to the French 'Amelie', but without all the Jean-Piere Jeunet weirdness and effects, albeit with a more Brit perspective.
A sincere and simple movie with many interesting characters who were very well written in terms of their motivations. There was a good blend too of comedy and drama. My only reservation was that the film was a bit too long and somewhat repetitive at times.
