Review of Happy-Go-Lucky (2008) by Peter F — 18 Jan 2018
Mike Leigh (director of such gloom-fests as Naked and Vera Drake) shows his lighter side in this optimistic comedy. Light on plot, but heavy on winning scenes of improvisation, Happy Go Lucky manages to be quirky and thoughtful, when one wrong turn could of rendered it annoying and pointless.
Sally Hawkins and Eddie Marsan have so much chemistry together, I'd love to see them work together again.
