Review of Happy Death Day (2017) by Jason O — 15 Oct 2017
Happy Death Day was a refreshing and original take on the horror genre.
The films creative team truly had the audience in mind. Twists and turns that was not completely out of left field was admirable and a smooth transition. The lead heroine had her personality set in stone for the audience to dislike her personality wise. I enjoy a rude or non traditional main protagonist. But I couldn't find a redeeming quality to like her in the beginning of the film. Soon we start to somehow relate to her impossible situation. We can't help but laugh and cry with the film all the way through.
All in all this was a refreshing take on a horror film and I enjoyed it.
