Review of Happy Birthday to Me (1981) by Shane J — 02 Jul 2013
My only big complaint about "Happy Birthday to Me" is that it's too long. Moments feel slow when a slasher should be fast-paced. But otherwise, I love this film. It's one of my favorite slasher movies of the 80's because it has J.
Lee Thompson in the director's chair (director of "Cape Fear"!), some truly bizarre and painful murders (that shish-kabob scene), mostly likeable teenagers, a sympathetic and surprising turn from Melissa Sue Anderson of "Little House on the Prairie" fame, and an ending that wraps things up nicely.
