Review of Hannibal Rising (2007) by Princess K — 23 Jun 2009
The Hollywood formula on how to screw up a beloved film villain.
(1) Take an already fleshed out character and give him an unnecessary back story.
(2)Cast a complete unknown in the role, and make sure he doesn't possess any of the traits that made the character so endearing the first place.
(3)Try and make the future villain sympathetic, and having a good reason for why he kills.
(4)Throw in a"love story", and make it extra icky by making it with his aunt!
