"Silence of the lamb" was great. Perhaps because they weren't to psychological about Dr. Lecter. They threw in some psychological jargons like sociopath and intelligent and then the story was on its way.
The audience then got this vacuum where our imaginations could make stories of how this monster came to be. Then Hollywood decided to tell us how this monster came to be and... well... it... it... why? Come on!
