Review of Hannah Takes the Stairs (2007) by Miles S — 08 Oct 2007
I enjoyed this one from start to finish. Perhaps its because its almost exactly where my own life is right now and thus, totally relatable, funny, sad, scary, and a button-pusher for everything that I'm also struggling to articulate and explore.
Perhaps I fell in love with Hannah from scene one and stayed that way through til the end. Perhaps it felt more like an experience and less like a film (as stupidly general as that reads). I could forget cinema with the slacker style and just enjoy.
And perhaps I just kept telling myself as a digital filmmaker, that full frontal nudity aside, this is a totally reachable, doable type movie for me to do. Shit, I'm not that far off now. So fucking definitely, I'm alotta biased, but I loved it.
Very cool, very new stuff.
