Review of Hannah and Her Sisters (1986) by Eoin H — 27 Sep 2008
What a cast. When you can field the likes of Julia Louis Dreyfus and John Turturro in brief secondary roles, you really have depth of talent in your cast.
However I find this one quite slow. There are prolonged periods where little happens. These are often gratefully ended with Woody Allen making too few brief appearances as a hypocondriac producer.
I had to check to confirm that this film was really only 100 minutes. It seemed double that.
Mia Farrow's face is otherworldly in this film. Her hair dates her, yes, but her delicate facial features are stunning and lovely.
This is enjoyable if much too much hard work.
