Review of Hannah and Her Sisters (1986) by Matt C — 15 Feb 2009
You can't go wrong with Woody Allen.
Mia Farrow, Barbara Hersey and Dianne Wiest were all great as the three sisters. My favourite was Wiest's kooky Holly character, that best supporting actress was definitely well derserved. As for the males of the story, Caine was also great, plus Max von Sydow (surely an honor for Allen to be able to cast one of his beloved Bergman's leading men), then you have Woody doing what he does best with his neurotic New Yorker persona. Lots of other nice touches as well like the score and the chapter titles.
