Review of Hannah and Her Sisters (1986) by Bradley W — 16 Mar 2012
Hannah and Her Sisters is a pure genius work from Woody Allen that proves to be both funny and has a lot of heart and meaning. Its a tale of happiness, sadness, family, and love and Woody Allen is able pull this together to be a perfect romantic comedy.
This cast was also just incredible, Woody Allen was hilarious, Micheal Caine was sympathetic and great, Diane Wiest takes drama to a new level and I fell into a trance with her performance, and Mia Farrow and Barbara Hershey add to the movies enjoyment.
The three story arcs have their own essense and heart about life and they soon all connect and were simply beautiful. Woody Allen is a great filmmaker, its hard to think of a movie where he has failed the audience and this is not one of them.
This is a classic and should be cherished and shown to people who want to make a good romantic comedy.
