Despite a promising start which makes you think that this is going to be an excellent thriller, Hanna quickly folds into a cliched regime and a disappointing ending doesn't help eradicate this at all!

Saorise Ronan's take as the merciless teenager Hanna is mightily impressive though. She really shines as the confused, fearless heroine while former Hulk actor Eric Bana performs well as her highly skilled father Erik; all actors cast really quite well if I'm being honest.

Hanna (Ronan) is captured by an intelligence agency, intent on capturing her father (Bana), a top assassin. However, Hanna has been brought up as a merciless killer and she easily escapes the grasp of the agency and they are soon left playing a game of cat and mouse. Marissa (Cate Blanchett), at the helm of the agency, will stop at nothing to get her hands on Hanna.

Like already written, for the first half of the movie, Hanna is more than a solid film with lots of potential. The problem is as its duration continues it's complex plot begins to faulter and we are left with brainless violence over intelligence.

Bottom line: Bourne this most certainly is not!
