For an alleged "comedy" some of the violence in this is pretty shocking. This was originally written as a buddy comedy with Wilder and Richard Pryor, but when Pryor pulled out, it was rewritten as a romantic comedy for Wilder and wife Gilda Radner.
They should've just scrapped the production instead.
