Review of Hanky Panky (1982) by Ben R — 22 Feb 2008
Purported comedy thriller which is neither very funny nor very exciting. Sadly, overall I'd have to say that Mr. Poitier is a much better actor than he is director (I believe one of his directions on this set must have been for Wilder to deliver 90% of his lines in a shrill scream).
The best reason to watch this is definitely the charm factor of the cast, the novelty of seeing the movie that brought together Wilder and Radner, and the steely eyed coolness of the always reliable Richard Widmark.
