Review of Hangmen Also Die! (1943) by Tom M — 10 Sep 2008
1943, set in Czechoslovakia during Nazi occupation. A high ranking Nazi is killed, and the Nazi's round upthe usual suspects trying to find the killer. THe killer, stays on the loose, getting help from a woman, and eventually her family. The story gets more involved there, with revolutionaries, spies and intrigue.
It's a good story, with great cinematography. Nice to see Walter Brennan in it and not some weirdo in a Western. Since it's from the 40's some of the acting is pretty hammy, but what do you expect. Good movie, lasted just over 2 hours long.
