Review of Hamlet 2 (2008) by Matthew R — 30 Jun 2009
Extremely quirky with a delightful performance by Steve Coogan (always a treat). I admit the main reason I wanted to see this was for the inevitably awesome performance at the end, especially the much-discussed "Rock Me, Sexy Jesus," and I also admit that number was the best part of the movie.
The lead up to the finale was a bit slow in the plot and often nonsensical, the supporting characters rarely lived up to Coogan's energy, and I personally feel this film would have been funnier sans most of the R-rated material, but an entertaining little film nonetheless.
