Review of Hamlet 2 (2008) by Matt D — 24 Sep 2009
I had high hopes for this film but its lapses into purile humour for most of the film and some of the great gags aren't given enough credit while physical humour such as the mute girl getting hit a lot is given a lot of time.
However the film picks up momentum in its second half thanks to Elisabeth Shue, Amy Poehler and the show itself when it actually gets going is the highlight thanks to 'Rock Me Sexy Jesus' and 'Some Excellent Wire Work', Coogan is okay in the lead but I can't help thinking that it was written for Ferrell or Carell and I'm quite disappointed that South Park's Pam Brady didn't put much effort into a script as I know she can write much better.
