Review of Hamlet 2 (2008) by Meredith W — 02 Dec 2012
"Hamlet 2" is stupid and corny but also quite funny in parts. Steve Coogan struggles to carry the movie on his own but Elizabeth Shue and Amy Poehler are both hilarious in their minor roles. The story is wrong in so many ways. Failed actor/drama teacher Coogan, he comes up with a great idea: Hamlet 2.. "But.
Doesn't everyone die at the end of Hamlet?" No problem when you add a time machine to the storyline. And so the stage is set for musical numbers like "Rock Me Sexy Jesus" (which is so bad, it's good). It is absurd and lacks direction but is enjoyable enough.
