The first, and thus far only, uncut film production of Shakespeare's tragedy, Branagh's Hamlet takes an everything-but-the-kitchen-sink approach to the Bard's text, and it pays off masterfully to make this one of the most entertaining film treatments of Shakespeare's work, brimming with fantastic performances (particularly Branagh, Jacobi, and Christie) and striking imagery.
