Review of Hamburger Hill (1987) by Jason S — 06 Jun 2007
This film shows just how absurd things got in Vietnam, sending the 101st airborne to take an unnamed, heavily defended hill with no tactical value of any kind. You can see the soldiers' will to fight just evaporate.
The movie doesn't delve into any of the moral issues often associated with the Vietnam War like Platoon did, and that's part of what makes this movie so good.
