Review of Halloween: The Curse of Michael Myers (1995) by Todd C — 19 Jan 2008

A flawed but very enjoyable film.Michael was mad about something in this one!Probably hasn't gotten enough air inside that tight mask of his,but this one will probably always be my favorite Halloween,followed by 4 then 1 then 2 then 5(guilty pleasure,love the 3-pronged hook)then I don't like the rest of the series.

Chappelle goes all out with the directing,it creates excellent suspense,(especially since this is the fifth sequel!It's nearly impossible!)and it evaded certain downfall with the possibility that Quintin Tarantino was going to write and direct it,he should stick to Hostel,Death Proof,and other films where people sit around doing nothing for hours.

Apparently his script involved Myers & Thorn attempting an escape from Haddonfield,WHY?That's his home,why would he leave,why would he side with Thorn,and why does that sound totally Harold And Kumar Go To White Castle!!?Not that H&K is bad,just not Halloweenie enough for a Myer's film.

Too bad they don't sell this anymore,I'd call it a cult-classic,sort of...if for nothing else it's originality.
