Review of Halloween III: Season of the Witch (1982) by The Masked C — 08 Jul 2015
Although having no connection with the previous 2 movies, besides the fact it's Halloween night, it's a really well done horror movie. Halloween should've been an anthology franchise, but they messed it up by having Michael in the 2nd movie and then people expected to see him again in the 3rd one, but when he wasn't there, everyone took a huge dump on the movie.
Despite bad reviews, I have really liked this movie. The story is not really interesting in the beginning, but as more secrets uncover it gets more and more intriguing. Plus, the ending is very scary and bleak, loved it.
The characters are interesting, especially the evil mastermind. The soundtrack doesn't have the original Halloween theme song, but it still has some very creepy tunes to set the mood right. There are some really disturbing and grotesque scenes throughout the movie which made me cringe quite a lot (that's a plus, not a minus).
The acting was pretty good, no complains. I feel as this is one of the most underrated sequels ever made. Even without Michael Myers this movie managed to make feel scared and actually disturbed me. If it weren't for the Halloween in its title, this would've been much more well received.
All in all, a great movie, which also works as a standalone, with an intriguing story and a great ending. Would recommend to everyone looking for a good scare!
