Review of Halloween III: Season of the Witch (1982) by Kerry T — 17 Oct 2009
Halloween 3: Season of the Witch is one of my personal favorite horror films, While it get's alot of heat as being the oddball of the Halloween franchise. One this it isn't is a crappy movie, the film is unsettling and disturbing. And 2 the irratating and creepy "silver shamrock" tune that is constantly played on the television sets of these Haddonfield residents, is very well placed and spooky.
The suspense builds and builds throughout the film, as you ponder just what these "silver shamrock" Maniacs are up to. The film is well paced and plotted. And the story is one of the more unique in horror movie history. Also the ending of the movie with the Halloween theme is surreal and ominously perfect.
The film is very good, and if you can put yourself into the frame of mind, that just because their is a lack of Michael Myers does not mean that this film is a let down, You might just enjoy yourself. And here is the question I pose to people who give this film a poor review "If this movie had been called simply Season of the Witch, and not Halloween 3: Season of the witch, would you still judge it so very harshly?".
