Review of Halloween II (1981) by Duncan K — 06 Jan 2013
Quite possibly the only sequel on par with the original, albeit the dull "style" the director chose. on its own, it was typical 80's slasher fare: cardboard characters and silly staging/laughable writing (from Carpenter, no less), with enough awkward murders to fill up a screen for an hour and a half.
the first half of the film moves slower than its predecessor and makes you wish you hadn't decided to watch it, but eventually the tension arrives at the end, with a solid enough ending to make it worth watching.
a must see for fans of the first film...but as for the other sequels, get your barf bags ready, because they're awful.
