Without any doubt this is the best of the Halloween sequels (that includes 2,3 (which doesn't even feature Michael Myers),4,5,6 or the frighteningly crpa Halloween Resurrection. This is so good down to the enthusiasm of Lee Curtis reprising her role of Laurie Strode, though somewhat older (20 years older in fact) than in her film debut in the 1978 original classic.

She has far more films under the belt now and still proves that she is the indisputable slasher scream queen. Some dodgy minor characters (LL Cool J??) and that kid who played the yoing robin Williams in Jumanji.

Also, due to Kevin Williamson (Dawson's Creek, I know what you did last summer, scream) on board writing, Michelle Williams makes her foray into feature films here. The teens are mainly pretty forgettable (although Josh Hartnett as Curtis' son is clearly the stand out).

This is eerie, the true John Carpenter theme returns, and it proves a superb sequel to the original horror masterpiece.
