Review of Halloween H20: 20 Years Later (1998) by Richard R — 30 Jul 2014
In my opinion, one of the best of the Halloween films. Set 20 years after the original Halloween film and following Laurie Strode as an adult, the film also stars young people like Josh Hartnett and LL Cool J who take to their roles with all the glee of young people starring in horror films.
While the actual gross-out horror is kept to a minimum and the film feels a little clean, the complex focus on Laurie's state of mind including her descent into alcoholism and eventually her redemption through facing her brother once and for all, was a nice change from the usual bimbo heroines of other horror films.
