Review of Halloween 4: The Return of Michael Myers (1988) by Vince F — 29 Jun 2008
Not bad for a sequel, somewhat silly actually. Micheal Myers is anything but scary(what's the deal with his mask in this one?), the plot has many gaping holes, and the acting was pretty bad (excluding Loomis, Jamie, and Rachel of course).
I really liked the opening credits and the directing was the pretty decent,he seemed to love the colors blue and orange. The Kills were alright, nothing really stand out though. I did like the ending. The rooftop scene was fun.
For some reason the movie is filled with nerve testing characters though. The hicks. cops. token teens. teasing grade schoolers, and some really stupid hospital personal all got on my nerves for some reason, not sure why but I wanted everyone to die. Luckily most did. So I sort of tolerated that aspect.
I don't know why everyone praises this one more then 5, they both compliment each other nicely, and suffer from the same faults. I like both of them though.
I never found Micheal Myers as interesting or endearing as most slashers.
