Review of Halloween 4: The Return of Michael Myers (1988) by Andrew L — 01 Nov 2014
Since Michael Myers took a vacation from the franchise in part 3 he was brought back for part 4, this, I welcomed. However, just because Michael returned doesn't mean the films going to be better. The characters are not very interesting and have poor development.
The story was good at the beginning and kept me going through out most of the film but as usual it goes downhill. Why did the rednecks just give up and drive away from the school where Myers is at. They were so hell bent on killing him and then they just give up right when they have the perfect chance to get him.
The love triangle of the 3 teens in the film is painful to watch. There's a twist at the end where you'll either love it or hate it. SPOILER ALERT. Danielle Harris's character becomes the new incarnation of evil and is shot to pays homage to the first film.
Well actually she doesn't become the new evil since the next film has Myers at it again so what the point of the ending then? I'm guessing they didn't know how to end it. Overall garbage, stick with the first two movies.
