Review of Halloween 4: The Return of Michael Myers (1988) by David L — 04 Aug 2016
A great return for Michael Myers, but not as great as the first two Halloween films in (1978) and then in (1981). Even though Moustapha Akkad went back to the basics of Halloween like he's said in interviews, he takes it in another direction though. The film follows Jamie Loyld (Danielle Harris) Who is living with the Curuthers. Rachel (Ellie Cornell) is forced to babysit Jamie after their babysitter cancels. Rachel cancels her date with Brady. That night Michael returns to terrorize and murder his niece and too kill anyone one tries to stop him or gets in his way. Dr. Sam Loomis (Donald Pleasence) also returns. He tries to put a stop to the mad man once and for all.
The acting and performances were done nicely. Cinematography and the look of the film was great. It looked more realistic and looked like they took it up a notch.
Everything was done well and it wasn't the best sequel, but it is worth buying and watching. Totally better than Halloween III.
