Review of Halloween (2018) by Jacob V — 20 Oct 2018
I really liked the 2018 Halloween. Michael Meyers is back and I was really surprised how David Gordon Green and Danny McBride wrote a pretty damn good script. A few laughs. A lot of Easter eggs that pay homage to the previous movies.
The kills were gruesome and even some some of off screen kills were cool(cop scene). Notable characters that you can remember by name for most part. I counted 16 deaths total in a hour and 40 mins, about a kill on average of 8.
75 mins. Halloween fans will enjoy this new take. The theme is women facing their fears and overcoming their monsters that haunt their past. Jamie Lee Curtis performance was excellent, no cash grab role.
The supporting cast and the shapes victims were also memorable. This is the perfect movie with Halloween just around the corner. I'd recommend horror fans or anyone who wants a good story about women who face the boogeyman.
8/10 total for my rating. I rate the original slightly higher with 9/10.
