Review of Halloween (2018) by Rob P — 20 Oct 2018
I thought H20 actually was better in some ways as a way to bring back Laurie and how she handled her trauma over the years and eventaully faced Michael again, but this was still really good. It wasn't terribly scary, but it had lots of great atmosphere, and I liked the intimate brutality of it.
I loved the old-school feel of Michael in Haddonfield, and the characters were all really good. Maybe a little too much with the little homages throughout, but I still liked them. The doctor, the "new Loomis," was a neat addition and added a new kind of small twist.
Some really good humor, too. I had a good time, and the more I think about it, it might have some staying power like the original. I kind of want to see it again already.
