Though it made some questionable narrative decisions and it lacks the slow-burn atmosphere that defined Carpenter's original, the 2018 Halloween breathes exciting new life into Michael Myers; the result is a more action-packed, occasionally funny, heart-pounding thriller disguised as extremely satisfying fan service.
