Review of Halloween (2018) by Truefilmfan N — 19 Oct 2018
When I saw the original Halloween, I was amazed by the chase sequence with how intense it was, even from a movie in 1978. The movie that started a whole series of slasher films. There was a down though.
When I watched the original, it was really good, but not a timeless movie. Some parts got really repetitive and emotionless to the modern generation, but was definitely freaked out in the night-time sequence.
Now when I watch this BETTER sequel, it was exactly what I had expected as a true fan who totally agrees with these film makers. It had better pacing and immediately got to the point and was emotional and intense the whole time.
Heck with the jumpscare factors that plagued many 2010 movies. This film rocked it to where you would actually care about the characters. Even the soundtrack in my opinion was really well written and played by John.
Will definitely buy on DVD and watch from time to time. This is the best and I mean the best slasher movie in 40 years. I hope many other films are inspired by this one and don't start off the cheesy franchises all over again.
