Review of Halloween (2018) by Chadwick W — 20 Oct 2018
As a die hard Halloween fan and having to deal with disappointment after disappointment in sequels including Rob Zombie's trash, I was coming into this VERY skeptical. I can say that after watching this movie that David Green did what no other since John Carpenter in H2 did, make a very watchable movie. The plot contains everything a slasher fan wants in the first 2/3 of the movie but I can say it was the last 1/3 that defined greatness to me. The Shape was downright brutal and carved up his victims like a Thanksgiving turkey showing no remorse. The best acting goes for the bravery exhibited by Laurie Strode (Jamie Lee Curtis) who after 40 years is able to be the strong heroine in the slasher genre and confront the evil without fear.
For those who are on the ropes about watching this you have no worries. By a ticket and if available at your theater like mine, but a beer and enjoy! 5 stars!
