Review of Halloween (2007) by David W — 17 Mar 2012
The original Halloween movies are the most scattered unorganized series... 1, 2 then 7 to part 8. Part 4 was terrible, part 5 was OK but 6 was so out there that luckily the "Producers Cut" somewhat saved it... and we can't forget 3... It didn't even have a mention of Myers. The original Halloween series should have stopped at the death of Micheal in part 2.
For my taste Rob understood the Myers character, the original 2 were great but very tame for mass murdering killer franchise. It had no dept or color for Micheal, he was very one sided and very flimsy as a character... Zombies back story and grit that was added to the story gives a look into the twisted mind of Myers, also adding more of the young years which created that monster.
The direction, cast, acting and mood of the movie delivers a solid and memorable dark experience.
A slasher movie done in slasher movie style... Good job Rob.
