Review of Halloween (2007) by Sam A — 12 Feb 2012
I love this reimagining for going a different direction and still being as interesting as the original.Rob zombie does a amazing job of getting into the mind of michael myers. The first act is about the birth of the michael myers we grew to love. The background story makes michael myers more human which looses alot of scares. The kid who played the young michael myers was creepy and well played.Tyler mane is great as the still pissed off adult michael myers who is thirsty for more blood.
I like that this movie doesnt try to outdo or outplay the original. But my opinion the shining star is malcom mcdowell who brilliantly plays doctor loomis who was once and eager doctor trying to break the puzzle that is michael myers then after years of studying michael gives up.I like this doctor loomis than the original series the reason is that he was more of the soothsayer in the original than more of a father figure to michael in the remake.Last and not least this movie is pretty brutal filled witha ton of blood like c'mon a slasher flick without blood is like a michael bay movie without hot chicks and explosions.
