Review of Halloween (2007) by Dan B — 15 Apr 2012
Unnecessary remake that adds nothing to the original except a trailer trash backstory, filled with the kind of repellant characters that (judging by his previous films) director Zombie mistakenly thinks are of some kind of stick-it-to-the-man counter-cultural interest.
In its own right it's borderline passable, but in the shadow of the original it disappears almost entirely, with only those elements reused from Carpenter's classic (the music, the mask) having any impact at all.
Missable.
