Rob Zombie's darker, bloodier remake is everything that it should be. Is there poor writing & acting? Sure, but Rob Zombie's remake plays like a dumb, 1970's grindhouse film. Poorly made, but extremely enjoyable.

I do have to give Mr. Zombie a lot of credit here, he tells the story of Michael Myers very well & it's just great to know about him. It's a film for huge hardcore fans of the original film, & I am a huge fan of it. The music in the film is perfect & the film looks beautiful.

For me, it's a huge guilty pleasure film that I love.

From a critic's point of view, it's crap. But from the same kid who grew up with horror films like these, it's a wonderful, enjoyable, nostalgic horror film. It's a guilty pleasure, don't hate.
