Review of Halloween (2007) by Kevin E — 18 Nov 2014
Half prequel, half remake, Halloween '07 has potential with the first half but is bogged down by exaggerated, white-trash characters, and the defiled mystery behind Michael Myers. The remake half is unimaginative, tensionless fare with a one of the most gratuitous rape scenes in the history of cinema.
However, Malcolm McDowell's take on Samuel Loomis keeps the film alive.
