Review of Halloween (2007) by Facebook U — 11 Mar 2015

Rob Zombie's film shows splashes of creativity, but he completely misses the point of what made Michael scary. The terror of Halloween was that we had no idea what Michael felt when he killed. Was he happy? Did he kill out of anger? Or was he just emotionless? By giving him a backstory it evaporates all the terror.

Now as a regular serial killer movie and not a Michael Myers movie this movie isn't so bad. There's some effective sequences and the movie can be entertaining. It's a mixed bag that misses the center of the target but it isn't a total loss because the bullet still hits the edge of the target.

That's my best analogy.
