Review of Half Past Dead (2002) by Gregory K — 08 Jul 2007
Now i've been a Seagal fan for quite some time and I have to say that this movie was a big turning point for him...and it wasnt a good one. This was the last "decent" movie he made after his rather enjoyable Exit Wounds thriller a year prior.
But since then he's fallen off the radar and been making movies like Out For Justice...yeah, more like Out For Pizza! It didn't take long to figure out that he was never gonna win an Oscar for his acting skills but he was once a great akido master.
You'd think after 4 years of really no success, he'd get some acting lessons, watch how many turkey subs he eats, and actually reads a script before signing on a movie project! It'd be funny if he went on that show Celebrity Fit Club.
I think he should stop torturing whatever fans he's got left and stick to the music. Yet, I would like to see an Under Siege 3 but that's never gonna happen. Well, at least Seagal is consistent with his results but unless he wants to make a comeback he's gonna have to really dig deep.
This wasnt the best movie ever but it had some nice moments to it with the music and fight scenes. Can Seagal ever come back?
