Review of Hair (2012) by Lilo C — 15 Aug 2010
Classic musical fun-times that is full of classic songs that have been referenced all over the place, especially in The Simpsons (Good Morning Starshine, Hair, Aquarius.) Despite the songs rarely moving the plot along or revealing much about the characters, they work because they make a comment on the time.
This movie is all about a glimpse in history, the 60s at the height of the Vietnam War. We see the class divide, the hippies protest, the upper-class ignore and one middle class, everyman finds himself stuck between siding with the ideas of peace or fighting for the war he signed up for.
The songs are great, the performers are awesome and the end causes you to reflect on all that came before it. In a single moment, duirng Let The Sunshine In, we think about the innocents who go to die for their country.
Classic musical.
