A revisit to the World War 2 timeline but this time with a twist: A Seventh Day Adventist who pledges to not wield a weapon and his vital role is being a combat medic. Based on a true story but I would say loosely based and directed by Mel Gibson. I actually like his movies, despite what people view him as. While Passion of the Christ was good, I loved his work on Apocalypto. As far as I know, there isn't a movie like that where we get the idea of how the Mayans were and their little society.

Hacksaw Ridge is like no other, however, there is but of more exploration and involvement of the Pacific Operations. One I think that needs to be more explored than the European Theater of Operations. If you're a familiar with the history of World War II, then you should know what I'm talking about.

Although there are movies, tv shows, and even video games that have explored the Pacific Operations. I feel there aren't enough of them to showcase audiences nowadays. Hacksaw Ridge is a huge example as to why we should.

Andrew Garfield redeemed himself in this periodical war story of love, sacrifice, and the sense of duty that a soldier is willing to take to serve their very own country. Even Agent Smith a.k.a. Hugo Weaving. As well as Vince Vaughn, who I had no idea he was in the movie before I watched it.

War stories don't entertain but to give a lesson to each and every one of us. Sure, it's kinda inspirational, hearbreaking, and even admiring to say the least but showcasing how ugly war truly is, that's where it affects everyone in the whole world. Especially when it's World War. When you've got a story to witness like Hacksaw Ridge, it's always good to remind ourselves how war never changes.

The battle at the ridge itself is crazy and when you have Mel Gibson to direct, the depiction of a World War 2 battlefield is extreme. The scenes are what supposed to be and it's no joke that the Japanese Empire are quite brutal in the battlefield. But over that, Desmond Doss, the pacifist medic soldier, have saved many lives and it's unbelievable how he pulls it off. Although the movie may be in exaggeration on how it really went, it's no lie that he has survived through hell and even back.

Hacksaw Ridge is a good war movie and if you like me who likes to watch war stuff, especially WWII then I strongly recommend watching this.
