Review of Hacksaw Ridge (2016) by Drlowdon — 13 Feb 2018
Hacksaw Ridge is based on the real life experiences of Desmond Doss, an American pacifist combat medic, who served during World War II.
Mel Gibson may not be the most popular man in Hollywood these days (with good reason to be honest) but he does know how to make intense movies. Much like most Hollywood movies Hacksaw Ridge does take liberties with the source material but the story is well told and the battle scenes, which take up pretty much the whole of the movies second half, are brilliantly shot making for one of the best war movies of recent times.
