Review of Hacksaw Ridge (2016) by Sireddiecook — 17 Nov 2016
Hacksaw Ridge is a cinematic Masterpiece. Lush cinematography, an unusual sensitivity with incredibly crafted action under a most moving story. Performances from Andrew Garfield, Luke Bracey, Vince Vaughan, Theresa Palmer are all first rate.
This will be viewed and praised for decades to come. Is it better Saving Private Ryan? Better story, more impressively crafted, and no stupid CGI ending. Mel Gibson is a titan filmmaker, who has learned well from his Masters -- Peter Weir, George Miller and actually has topped himself(Braveheart, and the immensely genius Apocalypto).
WOW. That's a film. A miracle achievement in film, about a story that is a miracle.
